Wara numru ta’ dehriet riċentement, il-grupp lokali Mistura ser ikun qiegħed, fil-ġimgħat li ġejjin, jagħti żewġ kunċerti lajv differenti ħafna minn xulxin t-tnejn interessanti.

Tal-ewwel hija l-ftuħ ta’ The Farsons Great Beer Festival il-Ġimgħa 24 ta’ Lulju. Mistura jibdew fid-9pm fuq ir-Rock Stage u ser idoqqu qabel il-grupp popolari ferm Xtruppaw.

“Bħalissa eċitati ferm li ser naqsmu l-palk mal-iXtruppaw, li huwa wieħed mill-gruppi favoriti tagħna lokalment, u li huwa l-grupp li ma kienx jiddejjaq ikanta bil-Malti meta prattikament ħadd ma kien jazzarda jagħmel dan. Il-festival issa sar fiss fil-kalendarju mużikali tal-pajjiż u aħna kburin li din is-sena ser inkunu parti minnu.”

Fis-7 u 9 t’Awwissu fid-9pm, imbagħad, Mistura ser ikunu qed jippreżentaw għall-ewwel darba kunċert lajv komplut ibbażat fuq il-concept album tagħhom “U d-Dinja Tkompli Ddur” bħala parti mill-Evenings on Campus fl-Universitá ta’ Malta. Dan l-album, li jesplora aspetti varji tal-ħajja bħala ċiklu li jirrepeti ruħu, jipprovdi kummentarju soċjali – kultant jaqta’ u kultant satiriku – partikolarment relatat mal-politika lokali, il-korrettezza politika u aspetti oħra tal-ħajja Maltija.

“Barra minn kanzunetti oriġinali parti mill-album, ser inkunu qed ninkludu wkoll kanzunetti Maltin magħrufa iżda maħduma b’mod li jaqbel bħala parti min-narrazzjoni. Dan għandu jgħin sabiex ikun hemm element ta’ familjaritá wkoll.”

Mistura playing at BeerFest, Evenings on Campus

Following a series of recent shorter gigs, local band Mistura will, in coming weeks, be playing at two very different but equally engaging venues.

The first is the opening slot at the Farsons Great Beer festival on Friday 24th July. Starting at around 9pm on the Rock Stage, the band will followed by the very popular Xtruppaw.

“We are very excited to share the stage with Xtruppaw, which is one of our favourite local bands – the one which was not afraid to sing in Maltese when virtually no-one else was doing so. The festival is now a staple event in the local music calendar and we are proud to be part of this year’s line-up.”

On 7th and 9th August at 9pm, Mistura will then be presenting for the first time a full live rock concert based on their concept album “U d-Dinja Tkompli Ddur” as part of the University of Malta Evenings on Campus. The album, which explores various facets of life as a continuous cycle that repeats itself, also provides – sometimes scathing, sometimes satiric – social commentary particularly in relation to local politics, political correctness and other aspects of the Maltese way of life.

“Apart from original songs from the album, we will also be including reworked versions of some well-known Maltese songs as part of the narrative. This will ensure an element of familiarity as well.”
